Wait time is over, we have finished our work on cadTouch R3 for iPad as it was sent for review to Apple today.
We think it's a HUGE leap forward compared to cadTouch R2, not only because of the iPad better capabilities, but also because we are applying what our customers most want from a mobile multitouch CAD solution: to replace paper and pencil on site drafting. This release of cadTouch really focuses on drafting speed, with new features like always-on snap, vertex alignments, object-based selection engine and many more; we'll post video-demostrations that will show you the power the iPad delivers with a tool like cadTouch R3 installed on it.
We now so proud to release the first ever disclosed screenshot of our new application:

We are reinventing cadTouch, for the iPad™. We have a rock-solid interface design based on feedback from our thousands multiple-touch iPhone™ users, we'll deliver what customers really want from a mobie CAD solution offering an unprecedented ease of use and speed with native DXF compatibility I/O.
We are already filling the gap between your office and the working site with our iPhone™ solution, cadTouch R2, with this new release for the iPad™ we will go further and take on-site designing to an unprecedented level. Not only you will be able to review/measure/modify and query your desktop-created drawings, but you will be able to interact with precision with what's being built on the construction site and take design decisions with CAD precision right on the work-site.

- Native DXF support. Now you will be able to import and export your drawings with native compatibility with any DXF file with lines and curves. Share your drawings with your desktop CAD solution, right from the palm of your hand.
- We have added three new primitives: rectangles, center-radius curves and three point curves. With these new tools you will be able to speed-up your workflow and produce unpaired precise technical drawings from your iPhone.
- Now you will be able to email your work in DXF directly as an attachment with Apple's Mail app settings and contacts (iPhone OS 3.0 required).
- Transition to fully hardware accelerated graphics completed. Now cadTouch is really snappier, even really big drawings are visualized smoothly.
- Important corrected bugs:
- Big DXF files now won't usually crash the app.
- Imported DXF now open with the right scale.
- Measure units were not applied upon export to DXF process.
- Fixed crash when calculation more that one area or moment of inertia.
- Calculations tool is bounded with the query tool from this release on.
- Walls tool will be improved and released with more usability later (removed on this version due to instability issues).

We are working on the next update of cadTouch, we have the pleasure to announce that DXF compatibility is broaden to theoretically unlimited drawing size. cadTouch's drawing power will be greatly increased allowing you to modify your imported drawing on the go and send em via mail (thanks to iPhone OS 3.0's new mail attachment feature) and converting all of the drawing routines to OpenGL to take fully advantage of the magnificent iPhone's PowerVR architecture and the new power of the iPhone 3GS which enhances hardware graphics acceleration to a new level. |

Finally, the 2.1 version is ready for sale and our current customers should be receiving free 2.1 updates. We have still a lot of work to go, but the really low price (for a CAD program) is there to premiate early adopters of our CAD solution that will grow with our customers. Please SUBMIT YOUR FEEDBACK about this new release and send us your suggestions for your favorite v2.2 features, we'll hear your voice. Thank you all for your support, we hope that cadTouch could be useful to your everyday work. neoDev |
